The efforts of the La Vernia Education Foundation (LVEF), a 100% volunteer-led organization, has resulted in more than $850,000 being contributed to the La Vernia Independent School District (LVISD).

GOALS

The LVEF operates to help the LVISD achieve a variety of education-related goals by increasing opportunities for students by directing resources towards various initiatives. Some of the Foundation’s goals include the following:

  • Enhance and enrich educational opportunities for students
  • Support staff who implement these innovative efforts and recognize them for their exemplary teaching
  • Get the community involved by highlighting that a quality education for students today leads to positive results for the workforce of tomorrow

FUNDING PRIORITIES

LVEF highly believes all students should be provided with unique learning opportunities in order to complement the district and student needs at the time.

The current funding priorities of LVEF are focusing on the following educational areas: 

-Innovative teaching grants
(Fall 2023 grants totaled nearly $125,000. In 2022 alone we awarded over $195,000 with both fall and spring grants!)

-Enhancement of academic achievement

-Enhancement of teaching excellence

Our Team

The La Vernia community is small yet mighty. Our Board recognizes the importance of a life-work balance and looks forward to the time when our youth become the community’s leaders and decision-makers. Our members take their roles seriously and pursue their positions with the goal of providing the best opportunities and learning environment for LVISD students.

Our team works with the mission to engage, educate, and empower.

Grants

Since 2005 when LVEF was founded, the organization has contributed more than $850,000 to LVISD, thereby helping students and teachers in the educational journey.
If you wish to apply for a grant, application for Fall 2024 grants will be available later in the year. Please check our website, social media pages, and your email for details and updates regarding submission deadlines.
Teachers and staff members are encouraged to apply for LVEF grants. These funds can help with many hands-on learning experiences for students, from providing money to buy glasses for solar eclipse viewing to providing funds for STEM technology supplies.
Grant money can also be used for general educational purposes, such as purchasing software or supplies for use by all students in the school district.

The La Vernia community is at the core of what the LVEF does. We couldn’t accomplish our goals for LVISD without your help!
